Everyone knows rule No. 1 when packing for a camping trip: Don't forget the tent. Some people even say that if you have nothing more than a tent, a light source, some warm blankets and a few matches to build a fire, you don't need anything else. We say leave the bare-bones roughing it for true diehards. Having necessary supplies and equipment (plus a few nonessentials) can mean the difference between a great camping trip and a total disaster.
